Peggy’s true challenge as a 15-year veteran of the hospitality industry is not merely confined to operating a restaurant. Her greatest challenge is educating the public in sustainable, responsible sourcing and healthy, plant-based cuisine, practices that do not always receive the merit they deserve. But Grassroots Pantry exudes a giving spirit with a belief in what it creates. Peggy sets that tone from the top down, constructing a team with a desire to learn and that wholeheartedly buys into the Grassroots Pantry philosophy.
We have a young, energetic team that understands our success hinges not just on quality of food but also, on their willingness to learn about our cuisine and eloquently communicating that to customers. Our sous chefs each bring a different set of qualities and characteristics to work every day, but what unites them and embodies the team is work ethic, integrity, and a belief in what Grassroots Pantry wants to accomplish. Experience can often be overrated. Discipline and the desire to learn never is.
